A Local’s Bridge To Exploration

I recently purchased a SquatchTrading Explore Georgia t-shirt. I love the design and it’s so comfortable that it instantly became one of my favorites.

Why explore

One day I happened to be wearing it while visiting a friend. It caught her attention and she asked me where I got it. I told her about SquatchTrading.com and how there was also a version with “Local” on it. Knowing that I am a lifelong resident of Georgia, my friend asked me why I didn’t get the one with “Local” on it (no longer available.) Not really thinking about it, I replied, “Well, there’s a whole lot of this State that I haven’t seen yet!”

But as I chuckled to myself, I realized that there really was so much of Georgia that I had never seen before. Yes, I’ve been to all the major attractions, but I generally stay in my little slice of the world in the north metro-Atlanta area. Occasionally I’ll make it to the mountains or to the beach, but there is so much of my home State that I still need to see! Things I know about, as well as all the incredible things that I don’t even know about yet.

The Bridge

It turns out that just a few weeks later, I found myself hiking with some friends at a local park. I had been to this park numerous times before over the 12 years that I’ve lived in the area. However, my friends showed me a trail that I didn’t know about. We enjoyed a lovely hike on the official trail and even went off-trail to explore a rusted out, historic bridge that was nearby. I thought I knew my area pretty well, but it was a fun surprise. No, we didn’t find Bigfoot, but the best part of an everyday adventure is spending time with friends and going to new places that are hiding right around the corner.
